Trever Gold is fresh on the scene in Los Angeles spinning deep, funky, dirty and melodic house & indie dance. With roots in San Francisco, Ashland, and Black Rock City, his vibe is all about an elevated, liberated, bangin’ dance floor where everyone is celebrated and everyone is free. He blends genres, taking you on a journey for hours on end, and he’s looking forward to playing for YOU.

Trever is currently resident with Rise & Shine in Ashland, building a heart centered house music community in the Rogue Valley. He's currently making his debut in LA and is focused on production with singles in the works. Stay tuned for more to come!

This October First Friday, The Columbia is proud to host Art Out Loud: Beyond the Rainbow, a pride-themed celebration of art, identity, and community. This special evening brings together local queer and allied artists to share their work, highlighting the creativity, resilience, and vibrancy of Ashland’s LGBTQ+ community.

Throughout the event, guests can explore artist booths showcasing handmade jewelry and one-of-a-kind vintage clothing curations alongside our featured artists of the month. Each artist brings their own perspective and voice, creating a rich tapestry of color, story, and expression that reflects the many ways queerness shows up in our community. It’s a chance not only to enjoy incredible art, but also to connect directly with the makers who bring it to life.

As the night unfolds, the celebration continues with Seduction: Pride after Dark, a drag and burlesque show featuring Solaria Flare & Friends. This 18+ event will take place from 8pm-10pm right after the gallery showing. Tickets $10 at the door.

The Free Label

Wednesday, September 10th

The Free Label is a six-member band from Toronto, Canada, blending 70s disco, 90s R&B, and high-energy funk into an electrifying, dance-driven experience. Their 2019 single "All Night" led to international tours across Europe, North America, and Australia, gaining a loyal following.

They’ve played major Canadian festivals, including Mariposa Folk Festival and the Calgary Stampede, and opened for T-Pain, Aqua, and Lupe Fiasco. The band has also toured the U.S., opening for various artists and performing at universities across the country.

In 2024, Songs for Sienna, their highly anticipated album, earned them a spot on the Amazon Music Billboard in Dundas Square, Toronto. Tracks like "Crimes of Passion" have gained global attention.

With over 15 million views of their live performances in the last year, The Free Label’s energetic shows and natural chemistry continue to captivate audiences worldwide.

Everyone is an artist here at our September First Friday Art Show!

We’re flipping the script on traditional art shows. For September’s First Friday Art Show, The Columbia Hotel invites you to experience Please Touch the Art — a playful, interactive celebration of local creativity where the usual “Do Not Touch” signs are nowhere to be found.

This is an art show for everyone!

Expect a vibrant mix of works by local artists throughout the hotel — from experimental sculpture to vibrant painting to tactile textile pieces — all curated with one theme in mind: engagement. You're encouraged to reach out, feel the texture, trace the lines, and connect with the art in a whole new way.

But the creativity doesn’t stop on the walls.

We’ll have crafting and art tables set up throughout the lobby and common areas, so you can make your own masterpiece. Whether you're a seasoned artist or just feeling inspired, we’ve got the supplies and the space. Everyone’s an artist tonight.

As always, The Columbia keeps the vibes high and the beats funky. Our live DJ will be spinning eclectic tunes from hip hop to funky disco house, setting the perfect tone for an evening of art, community, and hands-on fun.

Free, open to all, and delightfully unpretentious.

His commitment to the craft is evident in his meticulous process; each photograph is taken on film, and he personally develops and prints them by hand in the darkroom, ensuring a unique touch that digital methods often lack.

His latest show offers a rare opportunity to experience his work firsthand, including some limited edition pieces that won't be reissued, adding an exclusive allure to his collection. This exhibition not only highlights his technical prowess but also his deep connection to the traditional art of photography, making it a must-see for enthusiasts and collectors alike.
